GHS White Bronze Acoustic Slide Guitar Strings
GHS White Bronze strings are wound with a material called Alloy 52™ and are an excellent choice for players using a magnetic pickup. They also work very well on lap steel when using open G or another tuning with similar string tension. (These are not recommended for C6 tuning.)
I use White Bronze strings on both an acoustic-electric resonator guitar and a lap steel. What I especially like about them is that they also sound great acoustically—something I don’t always find with strings made from magnetic alloys.
Acoustically, White Bronze strings let you hear more of the natural character of the guitar itself. To my ears, they bring out more of the instrument's wood and offer a broad dynamic range, while still giving you the magnetic response needed for a pickup. They also have excellent longevity, making them a great alternative for players who want a long-lasting string without going to a coated set.
